Here i am going to explain how to install AVG anti virus on a computer. First of all you need to download the free version of AVG from http://www.grisoft.com/. When you have done this double click the .exe file and it should then open.
The first screen you will see is this:
On this screen you must press run. After this another screen will appear. This is shown below:
On this screen press next and then you will see a new screen. This is shown below:
This screenshot is slightly different, you have to press accept in order to continue otherwise the installation will not complete. So press accept and it will continue the installation. It will then check the system. The next screenshot is shown below:
In this screenshot you can choose what sort of installation you want to use. There are 2 to choose from standard and custom. We only want standard so we leave the radio button checked next to that option. After it has been checked press next. Then on the next screen press next.
Here you will need to enter you details. When this has been done press next again. Then on this screenshot press finish and the program will start to install.
After this has finished installing this screen should appear and say it has finished installing. After you press next on this then a first run screen will appear. Choose all of your options and then it will finish and the program will be installed.
READ THIS IF YOU CONNECT TO THE INTERNET WITH A PROXY SERVER
To connect to the internet with a proxy server to update the anti virus you need to load up AVG and then press the control center tab. This opens a new menu with much more options available. Scroll down to update manager and then press it once. Go to the bottom of the screen and press the settings tab. A screenshot is shown below.
When pressing the settings tab a new menu will appear and then press the proxy tab. From the drop down menu press the use proxy server option. This will allow the other options on the menu to be modified. Type the proxy server and port in the text boxes and then press ok. Then press update and it should connect to the internet.
